About The Event

Catfish is one of the UK's most exciting blues-rock powerhouses on the circuit today, formed in 2014 the band has established itself on the scene as one to watch. Hailing from the south of England Catfish features the powerful father and son duo on vocals, Matt Long and Paul Long, Adam Pyke on bass, and internationally acclaimed drummer, Kev Hickman.

​In 2021 Matt Long was named instrumentalist of the year for the second consecutive year in the UK Blues Awards. In 2020 they were named Band of the Year and Blues Instrumentalist of the Year (Matt Long). In 2018 they were named Blues Act of the Year (England) to add to their 2016 British Blues Award for Keyboard player of the Year for Paul Long.

Their first two albums 'So Many Roads' and ‘Broken Man’ both reached no. 1 in the IBBA airplay charts. The second of these, ‘Broken Man’, was also nominated for a UK Blues Award and was named album of the year by the IBBA. Their current album 'Burning Bridges' was released in May 2019 and has received excellent reviews from the UK and European music press. It was the third most played album by the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association in 2019 and has been nominated for a UK blues award for 2020 as album of the year. During lockdown they released a live album recorded at a live stream in July 2020 when all the venues were closed called 'Exile - Live in Lockdown' which was also nominated for a UK Blues Award.

Sean Taylor

Sean Taylor’s unique songwriting fuses blues, Americana, folk, roots, spoken word and social commentary. Over the last twenty years he has toured the world and released twelve albums.

Venue: the Marquee

Tickets online: £16.00 (includes £1.00 booking fee) / £19 on the door (as long as we are not sold out!).

**It really helps the band and our venue to plan ahead if you can pre purchase.

Time: doors open at 7.30pm. Band starts at 8.15/8.30pm.

Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled or rescheduled, in which case you will be offered an exchange to another date, or a refund. By purchasing tickets, you agree to these terms.

Attending events

Our Band Nights are generally standing events. There is limited seating available around the room at the rear, on a first-come, first-served basis. We advise that if you want a seat to arrive early when the doors open.

If you have a disability and need a seat please get in touch with us in advance to make arrangements!

Please remember, it is important that you do not attend The Beaverwood if you have Covid. If notified in advance, (by 12 noon at the latest on the day of the gig), we can transfer your ticket to another Band Night so you will not lose out.

Access

The Club House has now been demolished and is being redeveloped - please excuse our appearance while we build a fantastic new venue! Access is via a flat footpath with handrail approximately 70 metres long. It is suitable for wheelchairs.
